Body Systems

We were learning about the body systems and we go in groups of four, it needed to be a mix of boys and girls. She said that it would be better to have two boys and two girls. It was me, Markus, Alexis, and Skyla. We needed to pick a system to make out of clay. Markus suggested that we would make The Skeletal System, it was difficult.

Dance 2017

Mrs. Dinnis taught us dancing every Monday like what is Hip Hop, where the chicken dance came from, how to do the shuffle, how to dance the seven jumps, how to dance the cotton eye joe, where the seven jumps came from and how to do the robot. Mrs. Dinnis said that we needed a to pick a person for a group of 4-5 people in each group to do the robot. It was me, Richard, Alan, and Jesse. Richard was frustrated because he thought that every group (except for Matthew's group) copied the start of our dance. Mrs. Dinnis told us what the folk dances are and where they came from: The Seven Jumps - Denmark The Chicken  Dance Germany Cotton Eye Joe - Line Dance USA. She also told us what Hip Hop is, Hip Hop is a street dance developed in South Bronx in New York City. Hip Hop is also a style of popular music of US black and Hispanic Organ, featuring rap with an electronic backing. I like dancing because it's fun and we get to learn more awesome and fun dance moves. I wish she gets to teach us more awesome dance moves like flips.

Maori Language Week

This week is Maori language week. We had lots of activities. We made Greenstones made out of salt dough in room 3, string games in room 2, played bingo in room 1 and played rakau in room 4. We painted our Greenstone green today and repaint it on the afternoon.

Marist Colts

Last week, Friday, the rugby players from the Marist Colts team came to visit our school. We welcomed them by doing the Haka. There were a lot of them. After a few minutes, they introduced themselves. It took a while because they introduced themselves one by one.

We also played ball rush. They told us to tackle the rugby players after we played ball rush, so we did. The whole school tackled all the rugby players one by one. The other rugby player jumped over the fence and other the students tried to go over the fence but the other rugby player said not to. It was like an invasion.

After we tackled the rugby players, we played in the playground while the rugby players ate sausage shizzle.
